Portable Camping Toilets: Home-Like Comfort in the Wild.

camping toilet problem - no clean restroom in the wild

The Camping Dilemma: When You Have to Go

We love everything about camping—except the compromise. Because when nature calls in the wild, the reality is rarely picturesque:

  • The Camp Restroom Roulette: Endless lines, outdated facilities, and those unwanted creepy-crawlies waiting in the dark.
  • The "Cat-Hole" Embarrassment: The sheer anxiety of digging a bush-toilet, praying no hikers walk by, and bracing for bugs in the brush.
  • The Midnight Trek: Waking up at 2 AM to braving the freezing cold and a pitch-black, half-mile walk just to find a toilet.
  • The "Bag-and-Tie" Reject: Dealing with primitive bucket toilets and the dreaded chore of packing out bagged human waste.

Camping shouldn't mean sacrificing your dignity. You deserve the comfort of home, no matter how far off-grid you go.

FAQs

How heavy is the product, what are its folded dimensions, and is it easy to carry for camping?

The LE-310 is a lightweight, portable toilet tailored specifically for outdoor enthusiasts, weighing only 17 lbs (approx. 7.7 kg). It features innovative folding legs that condense the unit down to a compact 17″ × 16″ × 11″ when folded, and it comes with a dedicated storage bag for easy on-the-go transportation. When offline, it can be safely stored on its side or packed laterally into car trunks, cargo bays, or camper cabinets with zero impact on functionality (just ensure the base cover is latched and the legs are retracted before lateral storage).

Where should the sealed bags be disposed of? Can they be thrown away with regular household waste?

Yes, absolutely. Modiwell toilets utilize an advanced heat-seal technology (thermal welding) to ensure an absolute, leak-free, and odor-free barrier. Furthermore, our film bags are EN 13432 Certified (compostable/biodegradable standards). This allows you to handle and dispose of the sealed waste bags just as easily and conveniently as standard disposable diapers—simply toss them into regular household trash bins or place them at designated campground waste stations.

How long does a refill roll last, and how many times can it seal on a full charge? Is it sufficient for a 3-day, 2-night camping trip?

Consumables Lifespan: Each original refill roll provides approximately 30 seals (the standard sales pack contains 2 rolls, totaling 60 uses).

Battery & Capacity: On a full charge, the device delivers 70 to 100 sealing cycles, which is more than enough to effortlessly power through a standard 3-day, 2-night camping trip or longer off-grid adventures.

Battery Saving Tip: The unit draws a micro-current during its automatic sleep mode (equivalent to dropping about 18 seals' worth of power every 24 hours). To maximize your actual flushes while outdoors, we highly recommend turning off the main power switch on the back after each use.

Is the product waterproof? Can overnight dew damage the components?

The device is not waterproof. It is strictly forbidden to use it in the rain, high-humidity environments, or anywhere water can easily enter the device. Please make sure it is placed securely inside a tent.

How many days can a single charge support at a campsite without power?

On a full charge, the toilet can support approximately 70-100 sealing operations. The standby power draw is extremely low. If used 5 times a day, a full charge can easily cover 4-5 days of camping. If you turn off the main power switch after every use and use it 5 times a day, a full charge can last for about 2 weeks.

Can it be charged using a portable solar power station (like a Jackery)?

Yes, as long as your power station provides an AC 100-240V output (to use with the standard charger) or a DC output that meets the 12V requirements, you can recharge the toilet.

Does a continuously flashing red light during night use mean the battery is dying?

No. A flashing red light on the front panel indicates that the device has automatically entered sleep mode to conserve power (standby consumption is only 0.3W/hour). Press any button to wake it up.

Will using it inside a tent leave a noticeable odor?

No. The thermal sealing technology cuts off all contact between the waste and the outside air. Paired with the coagulant and the anti-odor properties of the black refill bags, it ensures a 100% odor-free tent environment. Note: If the bags are left for an extended period, they will begin to degrade, which may cause odors to escape.

How should I pack out the sealed waste bags at a campsite with no trash facilities?

Once heat-sealed, the bags are completely leak-proof. You can confidently place them in your vehicle to pack them out and dispose of them according to local waste management regulations.

Can the sealed bags be buried directly in the soil or composted?

The bags comply with the EN 13432 industrial composting standards and are fully biodegradable under the proper conditions; however, they cannot be buried directly in the soil to degrade.

Which bag should I choose when camping below 10°C?

When the temperature is between 0°C and 10°C, the black bags will stiffen, causing excessive stretching resistance that triggers an automatic shutdown. Please switch to the blue refill bags instead.

How should the coagulant be stored in a damp outdoor environment?

The coagulant contains high-molecular water-absorbing materials. Please keep it in its original packaging and store it in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture from ruining its effectiveness.

How do I quickly resolve an E4 error while outdoors?

An E4 error indicates overload protection. Please check the sealing area for any foreign objects like tissues, and verify that the bag film is being pulled from the "outermost" direction without overlapping folds. For more details, please check our [Technical Support Center → Link].
